SEO
The spam my clients tell me they get most is from organisations offering Search Engine Optimisation. As designers we believe we are best placed to advise you on this.
Simply put SEO is the art of getting your site found by customers via a search engine. Searchers enter some text into Google (or similar) looking for help, information, products or services and if it’s something you do you want them to be able to find you easily. This generally means that your site appears on the first results page as high up that page as possible.
Key SEO activities
When Little Voice designs a website we take SEO very seriously and point you in the direction that’s right for your particular site. Every organisation’s requirements differ, but there are some key elements to SEO that we advocate.
The most important thing to remember with SEO is that with every new action you take, it takes time for it to filter through, so allow a good few weeks in between each change before you know if it’s working.
Analysing your site data
It’s also vital that Google analytics is added to the code of your website. That provides invaluable information about
- Visitors to your site (new and existing)
- Where they are from geographically
- How they find your site (the search terms they used)
- Which pages they visit
- How long they stay on your site
- Where they go when they exit your site.
Little Voice can set up monthly or quarterly analytics reports that will help you to decide what is working with your site and what you may need to change in order to optimise it further.
